Beth has been heavily sheltered by her parents since her older sister died three years ago. She sneaks out to a party the weekend before senior year starts to have a night just for her. To rebel just a little. That’s when she meets Chase. Chase is her little secret, but he has a not so secret, secret of his own. Once she finds out Beth knows she should hate Chase, but she doesn’t. She honestly shouldn’t want anything to do with him, but she does. How do you fall in love with someone you shouldn’ ...more

Erin Watt writes a thousand page review on thrush cream and I'll read it.

Heck, I'd read her grocery list.

I'd give my right flap for this book.

Full Disclosure: Erin Watt is an auto-buy author for me. I am absolute trash for this duo. So it should serve as no surprise that when I was approved for an ARC of their newest novel I dropped all of my responsibilities to dive into their newest work.

As with their previous novels, I practically devoured this in one sitting. Unlike the Royals series there are no rage-inducing cliffhangers here, but a nice (somewhat rushed) ending. And unlike When It's Real this was a much hea

I am absolute TRASH for Erin Watt. Their writing style is just so incredible. I immediately fell in love with Beth and the struggle she has with expressing her tragedy. Chase was an adorable grumpy cat with way too much guilt for his own good, and the CUTEST DOGGOS EVER MENTIONED IN THIS BOOK.

I love relationships that defy the odds and this is definitely one of those. This book is heartbreaking, rage-inducing (especially towards certain douche-y characters) and just so entertaining.

“That’s what I need. A very bad boy to take me down a very bad path.”

My god, I loved this so much. As soon as I started the book, I just knew it would be the one for me. Beth is so damn good—in the sense that she’s kind, beautiful, and shows a certain vulnerability that easily made me feel as if her pain was mine. Chase was just as good in my eyes. I honestly didn’t know how Watt would handle this type of situation because it’s complex and at times, messy. But they did; and this they did it with

I don’t even know what to say. I’m so horribly disappointed because while I absolutely hated The Royals series by these authors, I adored When It’s Real. So I had incredibly high expectations for One Small Thing hoping it would make me feel more like I did when I read When It’s Real.

Unfortunately, it was more along the lines of how I felt reading The Royals books.
Honestly, the only good thing about this book for me was Chase… the guy who killed Beth’s sister so that’s saying a lot I suppose

Rozečteno dnes o půlnoci, dočteno ve čtyři ráno. Tohle naprosto nešlo odložit.
Úplně jiné než dramatičtí Royalové, úplně jiné než sladké a odpočinkové When it's real.
Superangsty příběh o pokání a odpuštění.
Ústřední pár, kterému jsem fandila, vedlejší postavy, které mi pily krev, a přátelství a dobro tam, kde by ho člověk nečekal.

On the one hand I absolutely devoured this book. On the other hand, I can't say it was particularly good... But sometimes a little brain fluff is what you need in your life I suppose.

Let me tell you about the conflicting emotions Erin Watt had me feeling in just the first 20% of this book. It all happened so fast. I felt instantly giddy as I found myself in the complicated world of high school senior, Elizabeth Jones. I love a good high school romance and this one had me AMPED right away. The angst, the drama, the insecurities and the unsettled feelings of teenage years, I just love stories that take me to that place. One Small Thing took me there. But combine all that teen ...more

(Source: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to Harlequin Teen and Erin Watt (Jen Frederick and Elle Kennedy.)

First of all I am so grateful to the authors and the publisher for giving me the chance to read this book in advance. As any other book of Erin Watt, this one as well left me speechless with various mixed up feelings. What I love about Erin Watt's books, that every single book is different, every character has their own manners of speech, and you never notice that

Okay, I have a little confession. Erin Watt is my guilty pleasure author. This duo's books to me are what reality TV is for the rest of the world.

I can't read these types of books all the time but when I'm in the mood for them, I devour them and this book was no exception. I read this book in a couple of hours and totally enjoyed every single minute of it.

Was the plot a little far fetched and drama-centric? Definitely.
Was the main character a little ridiculous and a whole lot of angsty? Absol

Huge thank you to HarperCollins Australia for sending me a copy of this book for review.

Erin Watt always has an extremely engaging writing style that makes her books so much fun to read and One Small Thing was no exception. One moment you've just started reading and the next you're 200 pages in. Like I said, its an easy read.

It is full of teenage angst, triggering scenarios (domestic abuse and sexual assault, just be advised before reading), a really screwed up family dynamic and a roma

This was a breath of fresh air wrapped up in a young adult world of letting go, forgiveness, and ultimately acceptance of things for which we cannot change. I've not read an Erin Watt story and was pleasantly absorbed in her words. This story hinges on what's left after tragedy strikes and how we choose to pick up the pieces of the wreckage. Watt's story crafting tells re

What a stunning book! Erin Watt kills it. I didn't want the book to end! I'll be back with more when I can actually coherently talk about it. Add this to your must read lists because WOW!
In some ways, going back to NA/YA can be frustrating no matter the author, only because it’s hard to step back into a teen’s POV when your older self wants nothing but to smack these characters…though not before wondering if your younger self were ever this way. Teenage angst galore is what ‘One Small Thing’ opens with—an act of rebellion that turns into a hookup (the start of a familiar downward spiral) that in turn reveals a whole slew of ugly emotions and self-destructive behaviour with gener ...more

One Small Thing is my first story by Erin Watt. I had good faith that One Small Thing wouldn't steer me in the opposite direction after hearing many good things about their series, The Royals. Thankfully it didn't!

It is vastly different from my usual reading pattern as this is more young adult and while the romance was prominent it wasn't heavy.

Three years ago, Elizabeth "Beth" Jones' older sister, Rachel was killed in an accident, changing everyone's lives in different ways. Now she's trying t

Thank you HarlequinTeen for providing me with a copy for an honest review.

If you know me, then you know that I loved The Royals series by Erin Watt. They are an auto buy authors for me. So when I saw that they were coming out with a new release I knew I had to get my hands on it. While I expected to like it, I didn't expect to be blown away by how real it would be.

It really brought out some emotions for me and I didn't expect that. This book dealt with death, grief, family issues and bullying.

An eARC was kindly provided to me by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was the first book I've read by this duo. I'm shocked at how much I loved it. This book was so good, I sat down to start it and then I was done. I didn't even look away once. I was fully engrossed in the story. I thought the premise was quite original and really powerful. These characters were really well developed, they were raw and unflinching. This was a story about moving on, forgiveness an

It's Erin Watt. What is there to say? I pretty much devour every one of their books. One of the best things about their writing is that their characters are so realistic it is so easy to get lost in their world. I did have a slight issue towards the end of this book, but it wasn't enough for to ruin the book. I just felt it was a bit rushed. Nothing big! This is a MUST-READ!

“What’s your small thing for today?”

This was a cute and lovable quick-read - the arc edition that I received only contained 319 pages just an fyi.

I loved all the modern references and although I hate reading novels with cheesy endings, I enjoyed this one. I also have to add that I thought that the name of the book fit amazingly. And, obviously, as it is an arc, there is bound to be some mistakes and typos and some plot points that need to be improved, however, I overall really appreciate
